Holiday lights may be coming to an end, but you can still light up the new year with Glow at the Exploratorium! Running through January 25th, Glow is a series of eight immersive light art exhibits. Each exhibit has been designed by a different artist and provides a unique interaction with light.

At Glow, you’ll step into a world of light with experiences like never before.

  • Play a dungeon crawler game by Berlin-based artist Robert Baumgarten
  • Experience a bright optical illusion by Tristan Duke, who is widely known for his experimental artwork.
  • Get your vitamin D in with an artificial sun created by Jacqueline Hen, who weaves the beauties of art and science through interactive designs.
  • Immerse yourself in an ever-changing landscape designed by Akiko Nakayama, who specializes in bringing together Yin and Yang through the meeting of opposing colors.
  • Become a constellation with Maja Petrić, an award-winning artist known for using AI, Probiotics and custom media with light to create unimaginable immersive experiences.
  • Take a moment to admire the refracted light by Martens and Visser, who are known for lively pieces that create an intersection for art and physics.
  •  See an ocean-breaking wave in the form of light orbs designed by Squidsoup, who use both digital and physical media to create fascinating environments.
  • Meander through a city of lights built by Angela Yuen, a Hong Kong-based artist who builds urban neighborhood-like structures.
