Happy new year! As we say goodbye to 2024 and embrace the exciting promise of the new year, it is time to start planning for all the incredible events that make living here so special. From world-class festivals to neighborhood gatherings, there is something for everyone to enjoy in the year ahead. Mark your calendars for some of our favorite can’t–miss events happening across the Bay Area in 2025:

1. Bay To Breakers (May 18): This iconic foot race is most famous for its costumes, with many participants wearing wacky or unconventional dress during the 12 kilometer race.  The race is recognized as one of the world’s largest foot races, and travels from the Embarcadero, across the Great Highway, and up to Ocean Beach. Participate in the historic fun this year with a 12 or 15 kilometer race, or enjoy the race from afar on May 18.

2. Outside Lands Music Festival (Aug 18-20): Every year, Outside Lands gets larger and more exciting, turning into a Bay Area cultural phenomenon. Housed in Golden Gate Park, this music festival is one of the largest in the country, reflecting the Bay Area’s art and culinary scene. In addition to the incredible musicians there, OSL features 100% local vendors, with nearly 100 every year. Though it is still too early to purchase tickets or survey the musical lineup, get excited for the festival this upcoming August!

3. NBA All-Star Game (Feb 16): For the first time ever, one of the most exciting events of the professional basketball season is coming to Chase Center in San Francisco. The event will begin on Friday, February 14, with a showcase of top rookies and second-year players, then Saturday will feature a 3-point contest, skills challenge, and dunk contest. The weekend will culminate in the NBA all-star game on the 16th, featuring NBA legends. Find tickets here. The NBA will also host several events across the Bay Area, like the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game at the Oakland Arena, or NBA All-Star Practice

…and many more! We hope you have an incredible start to 2025!
