This week, BART and AC Transit updated their schedules to align with the Metropolitan Transportation Commission’s “Big Sync” initiative. The goal of the Big Sync is to:

  • Make transfers between transit systems smoother and more efficient
  • Minimize wait times between different transit systems
  • Increase reliability at key multi-modal transit hubs
  • Reduce transit travel time across the Bay Area

Work on this program began in 2020 with the development of the Transit Transformation Action Plan, which covers transit agencies in the nine-county Bay Area (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma). As the plan is rolled out, riders are advised to check schedules for updates. Below are links to the latest schedules for the major regional transit agencies.
