Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. The goal is to get as many people as possible involved in raising awareness and funds to help support life-saving research and life-changing support.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is also a time to remind women to get their mammograms. Mammograms are the best way to find breast cancer early, when it is easier to treat, and before it is big enough to feel or cause symptoms.
There are many ways to support breast cancer awareness and research. Contribute if you can, but at a minimum, get a mammogram and/or encourage family and friends to do it.
