Brewed Awakening in San Francisco!

Happy Fall! As temperatures stay low, and the rain starts to fall, it is the best time to enjoy a nice cup of coffee with family and friends. The Bay Area has a lively coffee scene, and this weekend the San Francisco Coffee Festival returns to Fort Mason!

San Francisco has a long history of supporting small coffee roasters. It is the famous birthplace of popular chains like Peets, Philz, and Blue Bottle, which have inspired specialty coffee roasters across the country. Their coffee became incredibly popular, as it still is, and instilled within San Francisco a tradition of artisan roasting and individually owned cafes. In the city today, only 24% of all coffee shops are part of a chain, making it one of the most exciting cities in the United States for unique coffee. 

The San Francisco Coffee festival is returning for its 8th year this weekend, supporting the best coffee roasters in the Bay Area and beyond. Join coffee lovers across the Bay at the Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture Festival Pavilion on Saturday and Sunday, November 9th and 10th. Tickets are available for purchase here, which give you access to tastings, event panels, and more activities. Tickets sell out fast, so be sure to book ahead of time.   

This year’s lineup is packed with over 90 vendors offering everything from single-origin pour-overs to rich espresso shots. Expect roasters like Ritual, Andytown, and Verve alongside newcomers, all bringing their best beans and brewing methods. Each ticket includes tastings, so you can wander around, sampling a spectrum of flavors—from fruity, light roasts to deep, dark brews. For those really into the science behind a good cup, there’ll be demos and workshops on brewing techniques, sustainability, and even some latte art competitions. Their “Coffee Convos” explore the economics of coffee, its cultural origins, and how to make the best brew, hosted by experts all weekend. 

The event will also host local Bay Area food vendors, from Cochinita’s tacos and Yucatan inspired cuisine, to gelato from Hila’s Gelateria. You can also expect live art from Jarold Cadion, a Bay Area based portrait artist who uses coffee as a medium, and will be completing two live portraits at the festival this year, alongside live music and coffee fun!
