Here are some of our favorite Bay Area icons to inspire your Halloween costumes:

If you are interested in this icon of the entertainment industry’s connection to the Bay Area, you can visit the Charles Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa. This year channel your favorite character from what is probably the most nostalgic Halloween-themed movie, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!

Francis Ford Coppola: Though originally from Detroit, after co-founding a winery in the 1960s, this iconic Hollywood director has made significant ties to the Bay Area. His filmography is vast, with many costumes to choose from, including Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and The Godfather.

Robin Williams: After moving to the Bay Area as a teenager, this iconic comedic actor made an important impact on the Bay Area’s entertainment industry – the city even renamed the famous ‘Rainbow Tunnel’ after him! Whether you channel his role in Mrs. Doubtfire, or the Genie in Aladdin, his iconic characters are sure to light up a room!

Bay Area Landmark: The Bay Area is full of iconic and recognizable landmarks, why not dress up as one to show your love for the region? From the Golden Gate Bridge or Alcatraz to Caltrain and BART cars, there are many options to choose from.

Once you have a costume, you never have to go too far to find a street full of impressive decorations and spooky fun! Join Japantown, San Jose as they close their streets for a safe and enjoyable community experience. In San Francisco, head to the Sea Cliff neighborhood for impressive light shows and candy. On the peninsula, Cabrillo Ave. in Burlingame and Taylor St. in Millbrae are full of exciting decorations and are easily accessible by CalTrain. Happy Halloween!
