Happy Pi Day! While 3.14 typically represents the beginning of π, it also represents National Pi Day! Pi Day, March 14 (3/14), was started in San Francisco 38 years ago by Exploratorium staff physicist, tinkerer, and media specialist Larry Shaw. Since then, Pi Day has become a nationally recognized holiday with many perks for restaurant-goers. As the first recorded celebration of Pi Day, the Exploratorium will hold its 38th annual celebration, where visitors can view unique pi-themed exhibits and watch the museum turn into a party as the clock strikes 1:59, lining up with the digits of pi.
