Happy Pi Day! While 3.14 typically represents the beginning of π, it also represents National Pi Day! Pi Day, March 14 (3/14), was started in San Francisco 38 years ago by Exploratorium staff physicist, tinkerer, and media specialist Larry Shaw. Since then, Pi Day has become a nationally recognized holiday with many perks for restaurant-goers. With restaurants offering many deals in honor of the holiday, enjoying a fresh slice of pie is no better day! With seemingly endless possibilities of restaurants to celebrate at, below are a few places around the Bay. 

Amici’s

Blaze Pizza 

What’s better than a custom 11” pizza? One that you can enjoy for only $3.14! Head over to Blaze Pizza this Friday to enjoy one of their delicious custom pizzas at a special Pi Day price. 

BJ’s Restaurants & Brewhouse

Dine-in guests can buy one Pizookie and get a second for $3.14.  

Mountain Mike’s Pizza

Customers can get a free mini pizza with the purchase of a 20-ounce bottled beverage. 

The Exploratorium 

Want to extend your festivities? Look no further than to the Exploratorium for an exciting Pi Day parade with live music and a celebratory slice of pie! As the first recorded celebration of Pi Day, the Exploratorium will hold its 38th annual celebration, where visitors can view unique pi-themed exhibits and watch the museum turn into a party as the clock strikes 1:59, lining up with the digits of pi.
