Happy Easter!! Whether you are celebrating the holiday or not, this time of year brings endless parties, egg hunts, brunches, and unforgettable Springtime experiences to the Bay Area. Whether you are excited to attend an Easter service at one of San Francisco’s most famous churches, or ready for a kid-friendly scavenger hunt, San Francisco has events for all ages.
Here is our guide to the best holiday weekend:
Hoppin’ Hounds Biscuit Hunt, Los Altos Hills: Join the Pets in Need Palo Alto dog shelter to support rescue dogs at the Westwind Community Barn! Dogs and their owners will get the opportunity to hunt for organic dog treats in Easter Sunday fashion. There will be a coffee bar available for those who would prefer.
Bring Your Own Wheel, San Francisco: For two decades, San Francisco residents have raced down Vermont Street in one of the most unique Easter weekend celebrations, BYOBW (Bring Your Own Big Wheel). Join the Young Kids race from 2-3pm and stay for the Adults race afterwards!
Easter Sunday at Grace Cathedral, San Francisco: Join Grace Cathedral for Eucharist services throughout the week and on Sunday. The 8.30am service will feature the Men of the Cathedral Choir, the 11am will feature the Choir of Men and Boys, and the 6pm features the Cathedral Singers. The cathedral will also be open to admire the spring flower arrangements and lighting.
Filoli Gardens, Woodside: Though Filoli will not be participating in an egg hunt this year, they are open to enjoy the spring bloom, with over 75,000 spring flowers including daffodils, tulips, and violas. The holiday weekend is a great time to experience the seasonal excitement, and you can enjoy an elegant tea service in their main house.
We hope you enjoy your holiday weekend however you choose to spend it!
