Every year our new resolutions come and go, but how can we make sure we follow through? Big or small, here is how you can make your goal possible. Here are a couple steps that you can take to make sure that this is finally the year we stick to our resolutions.

Though you might want to start off strong, it is essential to plan out the resolution with small, achievable steps. Taking on too much too quickly is why so many New Year’s resolutions fail. Big changes to your daily life are too much too soon, but small steps toward the bigger goal are manageable and achievable.

Motivation is another big reason that people stop working toward their resolution. Try journaling and giving yourself reminders. It’s important to remember that your strategy can be adaptable. If what you’re trying isn’t working, take a breath and step back to reevaluate. Keep a journal to track your progress, noting what has worked and what needs attention.

It takes a lot of hard work to stay on track and achieve your goal . Give yourself rewards when you hit progress points. Resolutions are meant to help you, so give yourself a pat on the back for sticking with your self-care routine. Don’t wait to call yourself a winner until you’ve pounded through the last mile of your big dream marathon or lost every unwanted ounce, celebrate milestones too.

Good luck!
