Long awaited since the pandemic, the Burlingame Pet Parade is back in business and stronger than ever! With so much time to plan and prepare for the contest, here are a couple of tips to get ahead of your competition:
1. Go above and beyond with your pet floats this year, pets in capes and tutus have been done. Make your pet an astronaut, put them in a spaceship. Pirate cats and convict dogs are an easy way to shake up the themes. Pirate ships and convict cells are easy to put together and really wow the judges.
2. Dress up with your pets, everyone loves seeing superhero pets saving the day on their own. Try working your own creative spirit into a costume to wear with your best friend, a trusty sidekick or perhaps the salt to your pepper.
3. Don’t be afraid to bring your smaller pets, lizards, chickens, birds and snakes are all welcome at the parade. Everyone loves the bumble bee dogs and the tutu cats, why not ruffle some feathers with your chicken coop on wheels!
Remember to have fun and try something new, even without pets a stuffed best friend can be even better with the right creative angle. Teddy bear tourist bus might just be the next grand prize winner at the 2022 Burlingame Pet Parade.
