Next week, a Bay Area staple, the San Mateo County Fair, returns! Whether you are a music or thrill lover, the fair has something for everyone.
The fair officially opens on May 30 at 4 p.m. and will run a series of events through June 8. Every day will deliver unique fun, but check out the daily schedule to see what’s happening. A highlight of this year’s festival is the addition of the Bayside 101 Music Festival, which is set to deliver unforgettable performances across three stages. Along with the music, they are set to light up the night sky with an incredible synchronized drone show.
Seeking a thrill? Head on over to the Carnival Midway and take a spin. The carnival offers rides for all ages, from a fun slide to a daredevil’s dream, The Zipper. With 30 rides, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to whirl and reach new heights. Want to plan ahead? Check out the ride list here.
The grounds will be filled with classic fair foods, from hot dogs on a stick to lemonade. However, if you feel competitive and want to test your luck, check out the daily eating contests. There is a series for kids and adults, with the champion contest on June 8.
