Of the 600 athletes representing the United States in the competition, over 140 hail from California, many with ties to the Bay Area. Here’s who to watch:

Warriors  forward Gui Santos will also be competing with his home nation, Brazil.

2. Kristen Faulkner (cycling): SF resident, Faulkner, will be representing the USA in road and mountain cycling events. A former collegiate rower turned competitive cyclist, her journey to the olympics is defined by her determination and athelticism. Watch her compete on August 4th at 5am PST.
