Happy Pi Day! While 3.14 typically represents the beginning of π, it also represents National Pi Day! Pi Day, March 14 (3/14), was started in San Francisco 38 years ago by Exploratorium staff physicist, tinkerer, and media specialist Larry Shaw. Since then, Pi Day has become a nationally recognized holiday with many perks for restaurant-goers. With restaurants offering many deals in honor of the holiday, enjoying a fresh slice of pie is no better day! Want to extend your festivities? Look no further than to the Exploratorium for an exciting Pi Day parade with live music and a celebratory slice of pie! As the first recorded celebration of Pi Day, the Exploratorium will hold its 38th annual celebration, where visitors can view unique pi-themed exhibits and watch the museum turn into a party as the clock strikes 1:59, lining up with the digits of pi.
